Close to 600 stakeholders in developing the country’s urban centers and climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction capacity from the academe, national government agencies, local government units, civil society organizations, industry professionals, and the private sector attended the International Conference on Green Urbanism 2011 on October 18-20, 2011 at The Heritage Hotel Manila, Philippines

Climate change has severe impacts on the survival and sustainability of communities all over the world.

Urbanization as well as industrial and technological developments has slowly contributed and will continue to do so if efforts to address this global concern will not be done.

Green Urbanism is one promising strategy to achieve sustainable urban development and address climate change impacts.

Cities and communities of developed and developing countries must take on the shared responsibility to comprehensively deal with this concern for the well-being of present and future generations.
